The Opportunity
Veolia has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Advisor Contracts and Procurement to join our Water Division in Pyrmont 2009. Within this pivotal role, you will provide expert guidance and support in all aspects of the procurement process. You will support water sites with the development of procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring procurement activities comply with relevant policies and regulations.
This position offers the opportunity to work closely with internal departments, including operations and technical or engineering teams, to reduce risk, simplify processes, and drive value for money.

What you'll be responsible for
Assist in the development and implementation of procurement strategies aligned with organisational goals and objectives.
Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders with procurement responsibilities, helping them navigate processes, understand policy requirements, and achieve effective procurement outcomes.
Analyse spending patterns and market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Assist in managing supplier relationships, including supporting contract setup, performance tracking, and issue resolution.
Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for procurement activities.
Contribute to cross functional procurement initiatives and projects.
Develop and maintain procurement documentation, including policies, procedures, and templates.
Provide training and guidance to staff on procurement processes and systems.
Coordinate the review and approval of contracts and agreements in collaboration with project owners, legal and finance teams.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement activities.
Stay informed about industry trends and innovations in procurement practices, and share insights with the team.
What you'll need to be successful
Procurement experience spanning multiple categories and complex operational or project environments is preferred.
Knowledge of procurement best practices, regulations, and industry standards.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
