As a local manufacturer, they combine world-class products with the agility to deliver exceptional customer service. Their solutions are specified across major projects in healthcare, education, commercial office, retail, and infrastructure.

With a strong national presence and an ambitious growth strategy, they are now seeking a State Sales Manager – NSW to drive regional success.

The Role

This is a pivotal leadership opportunity for an experienced sales professional to manage and grow a dedicated NSW sales and service team.

In this role, you’ll lead from the front—70% coaching and team management, 30% direct sales—bridging national strategy with local execution.

With P&L responsibilities, you’ll oversee 5 Account Managers and 3 Customer Service Representatives while also managing your own client portfolio.

You’ll play a critical role in driving growth across specifiers, builders, contractors, and electrical wholesalers, ensuring consistent delivery of the company’s sales strategy, values, and service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Development – Coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing team; foster a culture of accountability and growth.
  • Sales Execution – Manage your own portfolio, achieve personal sales targets, and support Account Managers to win and retain clients.
  • Strategic Sales Growth – Translate national sales strategies into local success, expand client base, and deliver on pipeline management.
  • Customer Engagement – Build strong relationships with specifiers, builders, wholesalers, and contractors.
  • Collaboration – Work closely with Marketing, Operations, and SMART Lighting teams to deliver seamless project outcomes.
  • Commercial Oversight – Manage P&L responsibilities, sales forecasts, and contribute to budgeting and decision-making.

About You

You are a proven sales leader with experience in lighting, electrical, or construction. You bring energy, enthusiasm, and an entrepreneurial spirit to grow the business as if it were your own. You thrive on building and leading teams, driving growth, and engaging stakeholders at every level.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Sales management experience in lighting, electrical, or construction.
  • Proven success leading B2B sales teams and exceeding targets.
  • Strong network across the NSW construction and development market.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to sales and leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams.
  • Commercially astute with P&L management experience (ideal not necessary)
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office.
