About the role

Challenger Bus and Coach is seeking an experienced Technical/Mechanical Manager to join our team in Stapylton, Queensland. This full-time position is a critical role within our manufacturing and logistics operation, responsible for overseeing all technical and mechanical functions to ensure the delivery of high-quality buses and coaches.

What you'll be doing

Providing technical leadership and expertise to the maintenance, engineering teams

Developing and implementing maintenance strategies and schedules to optimise asset performance and reliability

Managing Warranty and customer relations in regard to mechanical issues that occur in service

Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency

Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety, regulatory and quality standards

Work involves Pre delivers,Mechanical repairs , Customer service ,Technical information work with Customers in regards to Warranty and Vehicle issues

Mentoring and developing the technical and mechanical teams

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical / Heavy Vehicle or a related technical discipline

2+ years of experience in a senior technical/mechanical management role, preferably within the bus and coach manufacturing or heavy vehicle industries

Demonstrated experience in leading and managing multi-disciplinary technical teams

Excellent problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills

Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities

Thorough understanding of relevant safety, regulatory and quality standards

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
