About the role:
As part of the IT team, the Applications Support Officer provides responsive technical support to AMES Australia staff, partners, and clients, ensuring smooth operation of internal systems and applications. The role involves maintaining and enhancing platforms like SharePoint Online and Microsoft Power Platform, resolving system issues, supporting digital learning environments, and developing reporting solutions. It also includes coordinating application upgrades, user training, documentation, and compliance with security and organisational policies, while actively contributing to digital innovation and improved user experience.
To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:
- Degree in Information Technology or related field AND/OR
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar IT environment
- Demonstrated experience with requirement gathering and project coordination
- Ability to work effectively in a team as well as operating individually
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, quality assurance and customer service principles
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Power platform and SharePoint Online
- Knowledge and ability to work with PowerApps development tools
- Demonstrated ability to perform unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing prior to deploying into production
- Ability to work closely with an information technology team to share knowledge, support the business and deliver functionality
- Ability to diagnose, address application issues and escalate where necessary
- Basic training skills and ability to develop clear and effective instructions, training material and user guides
- Excellent and professional customer service skills, including the ability to effectively discuss technical issues with non-technical people
- Ability to deal with difficult customers and basic conflict situations
- A current, valid Driver’s Licence is required
