About the role

Australian Infrastructure Group is seeking an experienced Leading Hand / Pipe Layer to join our team in Brisbane, Queensland. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating a team of construction workers, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards and within tight timelines.

What you'll be doing

Supervising and guiding a team of construction workers to complete pipe laying and other civil construction tasks

Ensuring compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations on site

Interpreting technical drawings and specifications to guide the team's work

Monitoring and reporting on progress, identifying and resolving any issues or delays

Providing on-the-job training and mentoring to less experienced team members

Liaising with project managers, engineers and other stakeholders to coordinate activities

What we're looking for

Several years of experience as a Leading Hand or Foreperson in civil construction, with a strong background in pipe laying

Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team

Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials and equipment

Sound knowledge of relevant health, safety and environmental regulations

Strong attention to detail and ability to read and interpret technical drawings

Relevant trade qualifications or certificates
