QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. About the role
You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing oversight of the district office's operations and service delivery, ensuring quality and value for clients. You will build lasting partnerships with local councils, government agencies, and industry, while also managing and developing staff.
Duties and skills involved:
- Through integrated procurement and contract management ensuring the effective delivery of customer projects and programs including rigorous internal and external resource management, performance monitoring and a continuous commitment to quality and value for money.
- Preparing and managing the delivery of maintenance, minor works and construction activity in line with the Queensland Government's Capital Works Management Framework, the Maintenance Management Framework and Facility Management agreements.
- Encouraging a positive work environment by promoting safe and equitable work practices and a commitment to equal opportunity in employment, anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety principles and practices.
- Overseeing the engagement, management and coordination of contractors to ensure performance complies with contract requirements and meets prescribed standards (including workplace health and safety) as well as ensuring proactive approach to address any instances of non-compliance.
- Developing and maintaining working and professional relationships with customers and industry ensuring value is visible to customers across all services delivered.
- Partnering with and develop the capability of local councils with a commitment to high quality and timely service delivery and value for money outcomes.
- Reviewing operations and encouraging continuous improvement in service delivery to ensure the provision of high quality and commercially viable services.
- Contributing to strategic and operational planning of current and future services to achieve corporate objectives, performance standards and targets.
- Undertaking the role of Principal Supervisor and Superintendent's Representative on large building and construction projects.
- Managing the delivery of special programs including Condition Assessment, Asbestos Audits and Schools Infrastructure Enhancements.
- Driving continuous improvement of WH&S programs and safety culture to support the achievement of corporate objectives.
- Proactively managing the work performance and personal conduct of your staff.
