AmSpec is a market leader in independent inspection, testing, verification and specialized technical services to the Oil, Gas and Chemical sector (exploration, production, refining, storage, transportation) and to the Marine, Minerals and Agricultural sectors.

The right candidate:

We are seeking an experienced HR professional to join our team for a 12-month maternity leave contract.

The right person for this job is someone who is motivated by helping people and figuring out solutions. Who enjoys working in a fast paced environment and has excellent attention to detail and a focus on service.

This position supports the HR Manager with recruitment and onboarding tasks but will also assist the payroll and ops teams with invoicing, ordering and travel arrangements.

Specific role responsibilities:

Posting job advertisements, short listing resumes, arranging interviews and performing reference checks.

Assisting in onboarding tasks, including adding new employees to Employment Hero and booking inductions, training and medicals.

Assisting with HR related projects including implementation of new systems and processes.

Assisting with travel arrangements and reviewing employee travel bookings

Preparing and distributing standard employment related letters

Processing weekly and monthly payroll

Liaising with employees regarding expiring certifications and licenses

Updating and maintaining personnel records

Assist employees with standard HR related queries

Supporting business unit managers, payroll and ops teams with invoicing, ordering, travel and other tasks as required

Maintaining and ordering office and kitchen supplies

Ad hoc HR administration tasks

Required Skills:

Ability to work independently and unsupervised as well as within a team environment

Experience with Microsoft software applications (Word, Excel)

Experience using Employment Hero advantageous

Strong attention to detail

Excellent communication skills

Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines

Excellent organization skills including ability to prioritize tasks

Pro-active, ‘can-do’ attitude

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

2 years+ experience in a HR support role OR a recent graduate in Human Resources
