The Role
The 4th 19th Prince of Wales's Light Horse Regiment is seeking a positive and motivated person to undertake an APS3 Administration Officer position to provide administrative support to the Regimental Headquarters and specifically the Administration and Personnel Support Cell (Orderly Room).
The majority of the role will be office based, and therefore a high level of computer competence and office machinery knowledge is required.
The role will involve traditional office administration tasks, such as: front of house inquiries, record keeping, information management, correspondence drafting, visitor safety briefing, ordering stationary, processing form workflows and applications, data entry using Defence systems and other similar office administration tasks.
They will require a good understanding of the Microsoft and Adobe suites of applications.
The applicant will be managed by an ADF Administrator (WO2) and will be the sole APS member within the cell.
About our Team
4/19 PWLH's role is to provide the 4th Brigade with an Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance capability, aiding in their mission of supporting the 2nd (Australian) Division in protecting Australia, including its offshore territories, integrated with whole of government, in accordance with Chief of Joint Operations Theatre Campaign Plan, in order to defend Australia and its national interests.
4/19 PWLH Regimental Headquarters commands three Unit depots across Victoria (Simpson Barracks, RAAF Base East Sale, and Latchford Barracks).
The Administration and Personnel Support Cell is made up of full and part time Army personnel with the APS 3 Admin Officer working closely with a full time Army PTE and WO2 who are Army administration specialists.
Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will have excellent administrative and organisational ability, well-developed spoken and written communication and time management skills.
The applicant will require the ability to establish effective working relationships, maintain confidentiality and to work as part of a team - as well as showing self-autonomy, and the ability to perform under pressure to time constraints.
They may be required to communicate with, respond, and provide advice to a range of stakeholders on basic administrative issues in order to achieve work, Unit, and Defence outcomes.
As an APS3, they are require the ability to provide a knowledge transfer of information regarding administrative processes, in order to assist with the development of junior members within the Registry.
