About the Position
As Lighting Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role in our Senior Lighting Team, guiding both our core staff and casual crew while mentoring new starters and trainees. Your combination of technical expertise and strong people skills will ensure the successful delivery of high-quality lighting across a diverse range of productions and events.
You’ll be responsible for supervising crews during all phases of production — from pre-production planning, bump-ins and rehearsals, to performances and bump-outs. This role is critical to maintaining a culture of safety, collaboration, and excellence in our venues. Working closely with technical and creative teams, you’ll help realise ambitious artistic visions while fostering a supportive, inclusive and highly capable team environment.
This is a full-time ongoing position, classified at Band 3.2, with a salary of $85,347.00 plus superannuation.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a confident and experienced lighting professional who thrives in leadership and mentoring roles. You will bring:
- A Diploma or higher qualification, or equivalent experience in live performance or technical production
- At least 5 years of experience in the lighting industry
- A proven ability to lead, supervise and develop teams, including casuals and emerging technicians
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and client-focused approach
- Experience in lighting programming, ideally with ETC EOS
- Familiarity with lighting design, automated lighting, and control systems
- Solid understanding of lighting networks, data distribution, and modern venue infrastructure
- Previous experience as a Head Electrician or equivalent senior technical role
You’ll also be comfortable working across a variety of platforms and tools, including:
- Vectorworks, AutoCAD, or similar
- Lightwright
- Moving Light Assistant
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
While not essential, we’re especially interested in candidates with:
- Experience lighting theatre, musicals, or dance
- A Basic or Intermediate Rigging Licence
- An Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Licence
- OHS and Fire Warden training
- Relevant industry certifications and training

The Production department sits within the Performing Arts pillar and comprises of a team that delivers production services for ACM across Staging, Lighting, Audio, Broadcast, Wardrobe, Stage Management, and Safety/Training to enable the safe and efficient delivery of events across all of our venues and spaces.
