St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals are co-located in the same facility, and opened in 2015. The hospitals provide both public and private services for people living in Perth's eastern suburbs and nearby regional areas. The hospital includes an Accident and Emergency Department, critical care unit, mental health unit, and maternity ward.
Your role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to provide high-quality administrative support to the Medical Services Team. In this pivotal role, you will manage information with accuracy and ensure effective communication with Senior Medical Staff. Your efforts will be essential in facilitating smooth medical credentialing operations.
The Position
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and efficiency in managing credentialing documentation and maintaining compliance throughout every stage of the process.
- Assist with medical staff on-boarding, including AHPRA requirements and liaising with Group HR for completion of pre-commencement paperwork and checks.
- Provide secretariat support for the Scope of Practice Committee including preparing and distributing committee papers, minute taking, facilitating action items and assisting the Director of Medical Services as relevant.
- Coordinate the timely registration of Medicare billable provider numbers to ensure that all doctors have a billable number before each term commences. This will involve regular liaison with junior doctors and Medicare.
- Coordinate the timely registration of Health Funds for all applicable doctors to ensure compliance before each term commences and effectively manage and fix any billing registration issues as directed by the Medical Practitioner Billing Manager.
- Ensuring timely escalation to the Medical Administration Manager in the event of doctor non-compliance when obtaining provider numbers and health fund registration paperwork.
- Liaison with internal and external parties to monitor and update credentialing requirements
To succeed you will be customer focused with the ability to use your own initiative and be able to organise and prioritise clerical tasks with minimal supervision, as well as having strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to be flexible and work as part of a team.
You will ideally bring experience in credentialing senior medical practitioners, whether employed, contracted, or as VMOs, within the fast-paced environment of a busy hospital setting.

- Salary: $85,508 to $87,204 per annum, plus 12% superannuation
- Permanent full-time role, working 38 hours per week
