ABOUT FVREE AND THE JOB

We provide specialist family violence services to victim survivors in Melbourne’s Eastern Suburbs. To find out more about FVREE services, please visit www.FVREE.org.au

Our staff of around 175 are predominately social workers and other social service professionals, covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHADS) Award. It’s a dynamic workforce with high levels of movement, leave, shift work and other variability.

Reporting to the HRIS and Payroll Manager and working closely with the Finance and People and Culture (P&C) teams, the Senior Payroll officer drives FVREE’s payroll operations, providing accurate and timely salaries and wage payments for staff using UKG Ready and Payroll Metrics. With a continuous improvement lens, you support quality and compliance through administrative and reporting activities in accordance with policy, procedure and legislative obligations.

The Senior Payroll Officer is ‘front-of-house’ for staff payroll queries and to be successful in this role, you’re a flexible communicator who strives for excellence in internal customer service and is comfortable communicating with people across all areas of the organisation. As a true problem-solver you have strong analytical skills and enjoy explaining technical concepts in a way that is clear, concise and easy to understand.

ESSENTIAL TO YOUR SUCCESS

Strong experience with payroll and HRIS functions, including time and attendance

Experience in interpreting awards, NES and other relevant employment conditions

Strong understanding of the stages of the employee lifecycle from recruitment to exit

Solid data analysis and reporting skills with the ability to use Excel at an advanced level

DESIRABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL

Experience with Payroll Metrics and/or UKG

Experience working with the SCHADS Award

Previous experience working in a not-for-profit organisation

Familiarity with not-for-profit salary packaging benefits
