Barnardos Australia is seeking a dedicated Program Manager to join our Connecting three dots team in Broadmeadow, 2292. The Connecting Three Dots: Children & Young People, Disability & DFSV program is a project that will provide healing services to children and young people who have experienced DFSV in the Newcastle area.
This is a part time role, 21hrs a week, 3year contract.
About the Role
As a Program Manager, you will:
- Ensure high quality services are delivered to children, families and carers within a child focused, person centered, strengths and relationship based practice framework consistent with the program guidelines and Barnardos Australia's philosophies, policies and procedures.
- Support a team and ensure ongoing supervision, professional development and practice improvement.
- Develop and maintain networks and relationships with key stakeholders to deliver appropriate services – internal and external.
You’ll join a collaborative and supportive team delivering high-quality, trauma-informed services that uphold child safety, cultural safety, and family-led practice.
Skills and Experience :
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or Social Welfare related discipline.
- Experience working in a leadership position with children and young people and their family in a child protection context.
- Strong networking and relationship building skills to engage and establish relationships with different stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in capacity building, safety planning and managing safety and risk issues in child protection contexts.
- Demonstrated ability to work respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and communities, including a strong understanding of cultural safety, self-determination, and the historical and contemporary factors that impact Aboriginal peoples.
What’s on Offer:
- Base salary: $112,175 per annum (pro rata) + 12% superannuation
- Salary packaging: Up to $15,860 tax-free (general living expenses)
- Meal & entertainment packaging: Additional $2,650 tax-free per FBT year
