Templestowe College is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Maintenance Officer to support the existing Maintenance Manager.

The position is currently for .6, part time. Hours are negotiable with the preferred applicant but could be spread across 3 to 5 days.

The responsibilities of the Maintenance Officer may include, but not be limited to:

Assisting the Facilities Manager in undertaking routine repairs and maintenance of the school facilities and equipment where appropriate

Undertaking small facilities projects and painting as required

Assisting with setting up of rooms, gym etc. for school events using appropriate OHS principles

Supporting staff in relocating furniture and equipment

General upkeep of the grounds/facilities

Proactively identify maintenance issues and in conjunction with the Facilities Manager to rectify such items

Ensure OH&S legislation requirements are followed in the course of their duties

Other duties as directed by the Principal.

Applicants will have the following skills/qualifications:

a current driver’s license and reliable vehicle

a Working with Children Employee Check

a passion for working in a hands on capacity

excellent organizational skills

the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

experience in one or more maintenance areas would be highly desirable.
