The opportunity:

Join our dynamic team as a QC Officer and play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality.
The QC Officer is responsible for ensuring that production standards are met and maintained identifying defects before products leaves the premises. This role reports to the QA Manager. It involves daily weight checks, production requirements, complaint investigations, audit preparations, product sample retention & testing, general quality management programs, training, continuous improvement ideas, and assisting with general quality control tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensuring daily pre-start hygiene checks are conducted by online staff ensuring the lines are ready for commencing production.
Collaborate with the production team to discuss and develop better ways to improve quality and address underlying problems.
Perform root cause analysis of internal Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
Conduct product and process assessments and provide solutions for quality issues on the line.
Assist with internal and external audits, including GMP and internal audits.
Oversee the product release process, ensuring all production paperwork is checked, and products on HOLD move from Approved or Rejected in a timely manner.
Collaboration: Work with other departments on tasks such as GMP tasks, maintenance, production, and bag audits.
Ensure all elements of the Food Safety program are adhered to, including recipes, lot numbers, traceability and label checks.
Ensure all product and equipment testing is carried out efficiently and in a timely manner
Complete in-line verification and validation activities.
Be involved in the total HACCP program to achieve ongoing continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
Tertiary qualification in Food Science or similar is highly desirable (University or TAFE accepted)
HACCP understanding
Experience in a similar role, preferably in Food Manufacturing
Knowledge of food labelling including allergens, NIPs, ingredient declaration, and claims for retail, foodservice, and export products in line with current FSANZ regulations
Ability to work autonomously, highly motivated, and results-driven
Ability to juggle several conflicting priorities simultaneously without losing focus on the detail
Calm and professional under pressure
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to effectively transfer understanding of standards and requirements across all levels of the business
