Sydney | Hybrid | Health-Tech | Hands on Head of Engineering

We’re working with a fast-growing health-focused technology business on the lookout for a hands-on Head of Engineering to take full ownership of their platform and technical direction. This is a data driven platform that allows users to incorporate all their health data in one place from GP, fitness, dietitian, specialist etc and guide users on best suggestions for them. With over 30k active users this platform is on the cusp of next stage growth.

In this role, you’ll:

Lead architectural decisions across a modern full-stack system (Rails, React, GraphQL)

Stay hands-on in the codebase while mentoring and scaling the engineering team

Establish engineering best practices in infrastructure, CI/CD, testing, and system reliability

Work closely with product, design, and domain experts to deliver secure, scalable features

Foster a collaborative, empathetic engineering culture built on clarity and accountability

What we’re looking for:

5+ years’ experience building and scaling full-stack web applications

Strong technical leadership skills with proven experience mentoring teams

Track record of delivering secure, production-grade systems at scale

(Bonus) Exposure to health-tech or other regulated environments
