Engineering Manager – Fintech

• $180k - $200k base salary + Super + Equity

Our client are a growing fintech with operations globally, powering personalised investment solutions at scale. Their platform is trusted by financial institutions to deliver customised investment portfolios efficiently and securely. Now, they are embarking on a transformative re-platforming journey - introducing a contemporary, AI-driven technology stack to position themselves at the forefront of the fintech revolution.
We are looking for a dynamic Engineering Manager who can balance leadership with hands-on delivery. This is not a “hands-off” management - around 25% of your time will be spent coding and prototyping, while the rest is focused on leading the team, defining the platform vision, and driving innovation.

The Role

• Lead the technology function, ensuring stability of current systems while building a next-generation fintech platform.
• Be hands-on in coding (approx. 25% of the time) to prototype, guide best practices, and solve complex challenges.
• Drive the re-platforming program using modern architectures and AI-assisted development.
• Grow, mentor, and inspire a high-performing engineering team.
• Collaborate with product and commercial leaders to deliver scalable, market-leading solutions.

Skills / Experience

• 8+ years’ engineering experience, with proven leadership in B2B SaaS platform development (fintech or financial services highly regarded).
• A technical leader who thrives on rolling up their sleeves—comfortable both setting direction and contributing code.
• Expertise across .NET, C#, REST APIs, SQL, and modern development frameworks.
• Track record of leveraging AI in development and prototyping solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in a commercial environment.
• Agile delivery expertise and ability to manage external service providers.
