Swift Energy Group is expanding into the civil sector, and we’re seeking a motivated Machine Operator / Laborer to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to operate modern machinery, deliver high-quality project outcomes, and play an integral role in developing and shaping our civil services. You’ll have the chance to influence daily operations while contributing directly to the growth of this new service offering.

The Role

Initially, this role will be a combination of operating excavators, skid steer loaders, and trucks, as well as installing underground electrical infrastructure. You will be operating modern, clean and well-maintained machinery. Beyond this, you will assist with a range of manual labour tasks and ensure projects are delivered to a high standard. A key part of the role will be building strong relationships with customers on-site, managing time effectively so reliability, initiative, and professionalism are essential. Some travel will be required, and you will be compensated accordingly.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely and competently operate excavators, skid steers, and trucks

• Assist with trenching, digging, backfilling, and conduit/cable installation

• Take pride in maintaining machinery, tools, and vehicles in clean, well-kept condition

• Adhere to all safety procedures and environmental standards

• Present a professional image with customers and project teams.

• Work both independently and as part of a small crew

What We’re Looking For

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

· HR Driver’s Licence

· Excavator and Skid Steer Tickets

· White Card (Construction Induction)

· Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work unsupervised

· Strong safety focus and attention to detail

· Good communication skills and ability to manage customer relationships

Desirable / Advantageous:

· Other plant/machinery tickets

· Experience in civil construction or machinery operation

Additional Attributes:

· Willingness to work away when required

· Strong time management and scheduling skills

· Keen to be part of a growing team and contribute to its success
