About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced, highly organised and detail-oriented Senior Shipping Officer to manage shipping operations at our Alstonville warehouse.

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for you to thrive in a busy role, utilising your excellent communication, time-management and problem-solving skills. This role is perfect for someone who wants to take full ownership of their duties; and has a passion for working efficiently and enjoys being involved in process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor shipping/packing team member(s), coordinating daily workflows, responsibilities, resolving ad-hoc issues and maintaining compliance with protocols.

Oversee order fulfillment, ensuring special instructions are noted & communicated effectively

Ensure all NetSuite system records are maintained accurately

Jumping in when necessary to help the team adhere to agreed dispatch timeframes

Manage the shipping email inbox, as the first point of contact for logistics and queries.

Monitor and replenish shipping supplies, always planning effectively to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained

Monitor internal requests for sample shipments, ensuring business protocols are followed

Lead investigations into any problematic orders, collaborating with the relevant internal teams for successful resolution

Conduct regular stocktakes as per business requirements, and to monitor team performance for accuracy

Who We’re Looking For

Prior relevant experience (minimum 2 years) in shipping and/or warehouse operations

Ability to thrive in a busy environment, working with the team and independently and under pressure

Strong computer literacy: NetSuite or similar ERP system experience highly regarded

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Exceptional planning, time management, and attention to detail

A proactive mindset with the ability to think outside the box and offer creative solutions to logistics challenges

Physically capable of lifting, stocking and unloading unloading shipments
