PRAD CAFE PTY LTD T/As CANDY CAFE is seeking a talented head chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will help maintain our strong reputation by delivering high-quality meals to our valued guests and managing the kitchen and resources. This role requires a commitment of at least 38 hours per week. Main Duties:
1. Supervise kitchen operations and ensure meals are cooked and presented correctly according to the menu, including working across the grill, fryers, cold section, gas stoves and food pass.
2. Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and consistency, and follow a daily cleaning schedule to meet council rules.
3. Planning menus, managing food costs and budgets, and working with the management to solve kitchen or food preparation issues.
4. Organising staff schedules and kitchen duties.

6. Store food items correctly to keep them fresh and safe.
7. Preparing staff rosters and finding staff training needs.
8. Check and record fridge and cool room temperatures, and store raw food in the right way.
9. Train junior kitchen staff on the proper procedures and protocols in the kitchen.
10. Regularly calculate food costs and share the results with management.
11. Teach appropriate cooking methods and advise on how to cook dishes correctly.
12. Stay up to date with new cooking techniques, recipes, and trends in the hospitality industry
Requirements:
1. Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply and will be prioritised.
2. Minimum Diploma of Hospitality and Management level qualification.
3. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a chef, with experience in fine-dining cuisine, will be preferred.
4. Excellent time management skills and working effectively in a team environment.
5. Commitment to working a minimum of 38 hours per week.
6. Advanced knowledge and ongoing awareness of culinary techniques and practices.
Salary: $77,000 AUD - $80,000 per year plus Superannuation.
