About the role

Join the award-winning team at O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat as our new Head Chef. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for leading the culinary operations and delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests in the stunning Lamington, QLD location. Reporting to Executive Chef, As Head Chef, you will oversee all aspects of the kitchen, from menu development to staff management, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

What you'll be doing

Assist Executive Chef in developing and implementing innovative, seasonally-inspired menus that showcase the best of local and regional produce

Manage all kitchen operations, including inventory, budgeting, and staffing

Lead, train, and mentor a talented team of chefs and kitchen staff

Ensure strict compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations

Collaborate with the front-of-house team to deliver a seamless dining experience for guests

Monitor food costs and implement strategies to maximize profitability

Foster a positive, high-performing work culture in the kitchen

What we're looking for

Minimum 5 years' experience as a Head Chef or in a similar senior culinary role

Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing kitchen teams

Exceptional culinary skills, with a deep understanding of flavour profiles, food trends, and presentation

Strong financial management capabilities, including budgeting and cost control

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with guests, suppliers, and the broader team

Passion for sustainable and locally-sourced ingredients

Tertiary qualification in Culinary Arts or a related field would be highly regarded
