Slipstream Brewing Co. is on the hunt for a Functions & Duty Manager to join our passionate team in Brisbane. This full-time role is focused on driving and managing function enquiries across both our Brisbane and Sunshine Coast venues, while also providing duty management support to our flagship Yeerongpilly Bar & Kitchen.

About Our Venues

At Yeerongpilly, our Bar & Kitchen is a 300-seat venue connected to the brewery, where freshly brewed beer meets a menu of smoked meats, pizzas, and modern Australian dishes. With indoor and outdoor dining, a dedicated kids’ area, and versatile spaces perfect for both small and large functions, it’s a true destination for food, beer, and events.

Our Sunshine Coast venue, Slipstream Social House in Birtinya, brings the Slipstream experience north, it features a flexible private event space for up to 150 people in addition to the relaxed indoor / outdoor dining areas, a coastal-inspired menu and a focus on community gatherings, celebrations, and live entertainment.

About You

3+ years’ experience in functions, events, or bookings within a restaurant or large venue.

Strong communication and organisational skills; confident juggling multiple priorities while working closely with venue teams.

Proven ability to build client relationships and drive repeat business.

Hospitality-first mindset: warm, approachable, and professional in every interaction.

Experienced Duty Manager with a track record of leading shifts, supervising teams, and maintaining smooth operations.

Proficient with booking platforms (e.g. Now Book It), hospitality systems (e.g. Tanda, BePOS), and Microsoft Office Suite.

What You’ll Do

Field, manage, and convert function and event enquiries for both venues.

Drive new business opportunities through relationship building and proactive sales.

Create and refine function packages to meet client needs and maximise venue efficiency.

Act as the main contact for clients from enquiry through to post-event follow-up.

Support the Brisbane Venue Manager as a Duty Manager, leading shifts and upholding venue standards.

Collaborate with FOH, kitchen, and management teams to deliver seamless event execution.

Provide outstanding customer service and resolve issues promptly and professionally.

A Typical Week

You’ll spend most of your time (3–4 shifts) in an administrative capacity - fielding enquiries, converting leads, preparing run sheets, and coordinating with teams. The remaining 1–2 shifts will be on leading shifts and functions as Duty Manager, taking a direct role in operations and guest experience.

The Offer

Full-time role based in Brisbane, with occasional travel to the Sunshine Coast venue.

Salary bracket: $75,000 to $80,000, dependent on experience.

Part-time options may also be considered for the right candidate.
