This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full-Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time appointment at various hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extensions/permanency.
The various positions are located across Busselton, Narrogin and Broome. Additionally, this pool may be used to fill vacancies in other regional locations.
Job Description: The Medical Scientist is responsible for the accurate and timely examination of pathology specimens within a PathWest Branch Laboratory. This role applies modern scientific principles and approved laboratory procedures across multiple disciplines including Haematology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Transfusion Medicine. The Medical Scientist contributes to continuous improvement, research, and education within the laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform examinations of routine and complex pathology specimens using approved procedures and techniques.
- Interpret laboratory results in relation to normal values and clinical significance.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, reliability, and timeliness in all testing procedures.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of laboratory processes and procedures.
