A bit about the role
As Team Leader, you’ll champion a concierge-style approach to visitor engagement—ensuring every guest feels valued, supported, and safe. You’ll lead and develop a team that blends friendliness with vigilance, creating a seamless experience from arrival to departure.
What you’ll deliver
- Leadership and Team Management: Guide and mentor a frontline team that prioritizes friendliness, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity in every interaction.
- Customer Engagement and Service: Foster a welcoming environment where diverse visitors feel seen, heard, and respected. Collaborate across departments to ensure smooth, guest-focused service delivery.
- Smart Resourcing and Planning: Align team coverage with precinct activity to ensure consistent service and safety presence.
- Training and Development: Equip your team with skills in customer service, compliance, de-escalation, access and inclusion, and child-safe practices.
- Safety, Security and Emergency Oversight: Leading with a calm and reassuring presence, ensure the safety of people and venue security. Act as Chief Warden during incidents, upholding safety protocols with professionalism and empathy.
What you’ll bring
- Visitor-Facing Experience: Background in security with a strong emphasis on customer engagement and community interaction.
- People Leadership: Proven ability to build a high-performing, service-oriented team.
- Communication Excellence: Skilled in empathetic communication and conflict resolution.
- Commitment to Safety and Inclusion: Committed to upholding child-safe and cultural inclusive standards.
- Compliance Checks: Willingness to undergo all relevant background checks (National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check)
- Collaborative Spirit: You’re curious, community minded, and thrive in environments where people come first.
- Qualifications: Certificate IV in Security and Risk Management, postgraduate qualifications, or equivalent experience.
