This isn’t two jobs squashed into one - it’s one role with two clear priorities:

Operations: making sure strategy gets executed, systems run smoothly, and the business has the structure it needs to grow.

People: making sure our team of journalists, sales, design, and ops are supported, aligned, and clear on expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Operations

Own day-to-day business operations, from processes and workflows to cross-team coordination.

Turn strategy into execution - ensure big ideas don’t fall between the cracks.

Drive efficiency: streamline systems, reporting, and communication channels.

Work with leadership to set clear goals, then make sure we deliver on them.

People & Culture

Be the first point of call for staff on HR, culture, and team matters.

Run recruitment, onboarding, and role clarity across the business.

Build and maintain a high-performance culture: expectations, accountability, and support.

Set guidelines and boundaries around remote work, communication, and responsibilities.

Drive engagement - make sure our people know where we’re winning and where we’re improving.

The business runs smoothly without bottlenecks.

Roles and responsibilities are clear across the whole team.

New hires are brought in efficiently and effectively.
