We are a well-established food wholesaler and importer based in Truganina, VIC, supplying a wide range of high-quality food products to supermarkets, distributors, restaurants, and independent retailers across Australia.
As our business continues to expand, we are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Sales Representative to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with proven expertise in the FMCG and food wholesale/import industry, who has the ability to bring in new business opportunities and successfully open accounts with major supermarket chains such as Costco, Woolworths, and Coles.
About the Role
This is a strategic sales role where you will be responsible for:
Actively identifying and securing new business opportunities with large retailers, distributors, and food service operators.
Developing and executing sales strategies that drive revenue growth and market penetration.
Building and maintaining long-term relationships with buyers, procurement teams, and category managers.
Managing negotiations and contracts with major retail groups, including Costco, Woolworths, and Coles, as well as other key accounts.
Representing the company in trade shows, food expos, and industry events to promote products and strengthen brand presence.
Providing market intelligence, competitor analysis, and customer feedback to guide business decisions.
Working closely with internal teams (marketing, operations, and logistics) to ensure smooth order fulfilment and customer satisfaction.
Key Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Proven sales experience in the food wholesale, FMCG, or importing industry.
A strong existing network with major supermarket chains (Costco, Woolworths, Coles) – essential.
Demonstrated ability to open, manage, and grow large accounts.
Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
Strong business acumen and the ability to achieve and exceed ambitious sales targets.
Self-motivation, resilience, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel when required.
