Randstad is currently seeking several experienced Security Vetting Analyst APS5 to join a high-performing federal government team.

Canberra, ACT | 6 months l Baseline Clearance

Position description

• Provide high-quality vetting services by assessing changes in circumstances, reported incidents, and reinstatement of clearances.
• Work independently while offering technical advice on policies, practices, and procedures for vetting analysis and decision-making.
• Conduct specialized research and analysis, performing reviews and investigations to achieve vetting outcomes.
• Deliver high-quality work in a constantly changing environment.
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Contribute to operational requirements and support senior staff in assessing complex and high-risk cases.

Key Capabilities

• Perform complex security vetting activities in line with organisational standards.
• Deliver accurate, complete, and timely work outputs within set performance targets.
• Share knowledge and provide support or informal mentoring to colleagues as required.
• Gather, analyse, and interpret information to produce comprehensive vetting reports.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and participate actively in meetings and shared goals.
• Recommend or exercise authority to grant, continue, deny, or revoke security clearances based on established criteria.
• Identify and investigate discrepancies or risks in information and assess individual suitability.
• Conduct interviews and make enquiries as part of the vetting process, following best practice protocols.

Position Requirement / qualification

• Baseline clearance
• Australian citizen
• Certificate IV in Government Security (Personnel Vetting)
