You'll be joining a Federal government department that leads national efforts in climate and energy, environmental protection, and water management. Your new role

As an APS5 Project Officer , you will provide essential project and administrative support across a range of compliance and engagement activities. This role involves working closely with internal teams and external service providers to support low to moderate-level noncompliance matters, contribute to strategic program development, and uphold governance standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting investigations and administrative processes related to non-compliance
  • Assisting in the strategic development of field engagement programs
  • Providing general administrative support to the compliance team
  • Contributing to compliance strategy discussions and planning
  • Participating in workshops, conferences, industry events, and departmental activities
  • Supporting governance and reporting obligations
  • Promoting a positive team culture and adherence to the APS Code of Conduct

What you'll need to succeed

Your previous experience in a compliance, regulatory, or project support role within government will be highly regarded, along with the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in compliance or regulatory environments
  • Strong administrative and coordination skills
  • Ability to contribute to strategic planning and operational development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of government processes and the APS Code of Conduct
  • Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance
