Sous Chef – Southern Peninsula | Work-Life Balance + Career Growth

Experienced Sous Chef required for a busy and well-loved Southern Peninsula venue.

You’ll be working at our flagship restaurant, cooking up a varied menu of well-loved classics with plenty of modern comfort food in the mix. Famous for breakfasts, lunches, and intimate dinners, we’re a venue known for great food, warm service, and a genuine team spirit.

With over a decade under our belt, three venues, and almost 50 staff, we’re proud of the culture we’ve built. We don’t do egos — front and back of house work as one, we look after each other, and we’ve built a reputation for fun, professional service. What You’ll Do

Assist the Head Chef in daily operations, prep, and plating

Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene

Contribute creative ideas to seasonal menus and specials

Train and mentor junior staff, fostering a positive team environment

Manage inventory, stock control, and kitchen efficiency

Maintain a safe, clean kitchen in line with food safety standards

What We Need

2–3 years’ experience as a Sous Chef or senior Chef de Partie in a busy café/restaurant

Cert III/IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)

Strong leadership and communication skills with a team-first mindset

Ability to thrive under pressure while keeping standards high

A passion for local ingredients and memorable dining experiences

Flexibility to work weekends and holidays

Physical Requirements

Comfortable standing for extended periods
