About CM&G Cartledge Mining and Geotechnics is a leading specialist geotechnical consulting firm providing bespoke mining geotechnical services across Australia and internationally. With offices in Brisbane and Perth, we deliver practical solutions for feasibility studies, tailings dam design, and operational support to the mining industry. Our team of 17 professionals works with clients across 26 countries, focusing on delivering high-quality, practical advice that supports mining operations.

The Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our Brisbane team on a part-time basis (2 to 3 days per week). This role is essential in maintaining our financial records and supporting our growing business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping systems

Process accounts payable and receivable

Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts

Prepare and process invoices for client billing

Assist with payroll processing and superannuation compliance

Support month-end and year-end financial reporting

Experience with BAS (Business Activity Statements) preparation and lodgement

Maintain compliance with Australian taxation requirements

Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required

Support project financial tracking and reporting

Essential Requirements

Proven experience in bookkeeping (minimum 5 years)

Proficiency in accounting software (Xero)

Strong knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance requirements

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel)

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Professional communication skills

Desirable Requirements

Experience in professional services or consulting environment

Knowledge of project-based accounting

Familiarity with payroll systems and superannuation compliance

Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping or equivalent
