ADesignStudio is a leading Australian lighting design and manufacturing studio, renowned for producing high-end decorative lighting for residential, commercial, and hospitality projects. We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Workshop Manager and Fabricator to oversee operations at our Banksmeadow facility.

This is a senior leadership role suited to someone with hands-on experience in electrical assembly and/or carpentry, proven workshop management capabilities, and a commitment to craftsmanship and continuous improvement. You will lead a small, dedicated team and play a pivotal role in driving production excellence, safety compliance, and workflow optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership – Manage, mentor, and support workshop staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment

Production Oversight – Coordinate daily schedules and ensure timely, high-quality fabrication and assembly of lighting products

Fabrication & Assembly – Lead and contribute hands-on to the production process

Quality Assurance – Maintain rigorous quality control standards across all workshop outputs

Safety Compliance – Ensure full adherence to WHS regulations and promote a safe, well-organized workspace

Inventory Management – Monitor stock levels, coordinate procurement, and ensure resource availability

Reporting & Communication – Provide regular updates to senior management on production progress and team performance

Process Improvement – Identify and implement operational enhancements to improve efficiency and output quality

Issue Resolution – Troubleshoot production challenges and equipment faults with urgency and precision

What We're Looking For

Proven experience in a workshop or warehouse management, ideally within a manufacturing or lighting environment

Strong electrical assembly and/or carpentry skills highly regarded

Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a focus on team development and performance

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong time management skills

High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities

Solid understanding of WHS regulations and safe work practices

Proficiency with workshop tools and basic inventory systems

Must hold full Australian working rights, possess a valid driver’s licence, and have access to a reliable vehicle
