The Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take on the leadership of our Catering & Events division. Enjoy a full-time position with a Monday to Friday work schedule.
This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on delivery. You’ll be responsible for driving business growth, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring that every event we deliver reflects the premium standards Fossix is known for.
From developing commercial strategies and managing client relationships, through to ensuring flawless delivery on the day, this is an opportunity to lead a passionate team and shape the future of our events and catering business.
Key Responsibilities
Grow the business — Drive client growth and retention through new business development and nurturing long-term relationships.
Lead daily operations — Oversee end-to-end catering and event delivery, ensuring seamless client and guest experiences.
Manage and inspire the team — Lead the Events & Catering team, kitchen staff, and supply partners to deliver excellence.
Strategic leadership — Develop and implement commercial strategies, sales initiatives, and marketing activations in partnership with the Directors.
Client excellence — Build and manage strong stakeholder relationships with corporate clients.
Financial oversight — Set and monitor KPIs, budgets, and profitability targets, ensuring commercial success.
Operational accountability — Oversee rostering, training, compliance, procurement, and event equipment logistics.
Innovation — Stay across hospitality and catering trends, driving menu innovation and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of management experience in hospitality, catering, or corporate events.
Proven success in business development and achieving sales/growth targets.
Strong operational leadership with experience managing teams, suppliers, and multiple stakeholders.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Commercial acumen in budgeting, reporting, and financial decision-making.
Strong communication skills — able to confidently engage clients, negotiate with suppliers, and lead staff.
RSA and Food Handling Certificates.
Bonus Points For:
Qualifications in Hospitality Management, Business or related field.
Knowledge of the Sydney corporate catering and events landscape.
