Position: Business Operations & Compliance Manager
Esperance, WA – Onsite role

Stewarts Group (WA) Pty Ltd, incorporating Stewarts Engineering and Esperance Metaland, is seeking an experienced and motivated Business Operations & Compliance Manager to join our leadership team onsite in Esperance.

This pivotal role works closely with the Managing Director and oversees the financial, payroll, human resources, compliance, WHS, and administrative functions across the Group. We’re looking for someone who thrives on accuracy, governance, and problem-solving, while supporting the day-to-day operations of a multi-entity business.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage all group financials including BAS, IAS, PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax, and reconciliations

Oversee payroll and HR functions: recruitment, contracts, IFAs, BOOT testing, and award/NES compliance

Lead compliance and governance across entities, including WHS management and insurance

Provide high-level reporting and analysis to the Managing Director and external accountant

Manage accounts payable/receivable, debtor control, and supplier terms

Oversee marketing, IT systems, and general administration

Support the leadership team in driving continuous improvement and strategic outcomes

About You:

Strong background in finance and/or HR management within a multi-entity business

Solid understanding of compliance frameworks, including Fair Work, NES, WHS and payroll obligations

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Confident working with directors, staff, suppliers, and external stakeholders

Ability to manage multiple priorities across finance, HR, compliance, and administration

Additional Skills:

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Experience with Reckon Hosted, ServiceM8, Tanda, and Capital Business Management System, or similar financial, payroll, and workflow software.
