The Youth Disability Advocacy Network Inc. (YDAN) is Western Australia’s peak advocacy organisation for young people with disabilities aged 12-25. We are the leading voice of young people with disabilities in WA and work to ensure the voices of young people with disability are valued and included in decision making forums. YDAN provides capacity building programs for young people with disability, builds sector capacity to engage with and include young people with disability, and we play an important role in the disability systemic advocacy eco-system.


THE ROLE

Seeking an experienced, self-motivated Office & Administrative Manager for our purpose-driven non-profit. This role is a 0.8 FTE (30.4 hours per week) 12-month contract with possibility of extension. The role works primarily from our office in Nedlands with opportunity for some flexible working arrangements. The pay rate starts at $51.00/hour (SCHADS 5.1) with generous Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) exemptions available and access to an Employee Assistance Program.

The Office & Administrative Manager will work closely with the CEO and other management to ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of the organisation. This role is responsible for:

Managing organisational administration

Overseeing office scheduling, systems, and processes

Managing volunteers and work placement students

Some human resources management including dealing with minor HR issues, writing and maintaining policies and procedures, and undertaking workplace culture initiatives

Acts as the key point of contact for contractors and casual staff

Supports financial administration as needed

Identify and manage organisational risks


SELECTION CRITERIA

Describe your experience in office and administrative support, including managing phones, emails, scheduling, and records. Provide examples of how you prioritise competing tasks.

Detail your experience in recruiting, onboarding, or supervising volunteers and/or placement students. How do you ensure they are supported and engaged?

Describe key features of a healthy, positive workplace culture. Explain how you would support team cohesion or initiatives to support workplace environment.

Provide an example of a time you were responsible for writing and/or maintaining organisational policies and procedures.

Part of the role of Office & Administrative Manager is supporting staff interpersonal relationships with considerations to staff access and communication needs. a) Describe how you would accommodate competing access needs; b) Describe how you would navigate interpersonal conflicts or resolve a communication challenge.

Provide an example of a time where you took initiative to address a challenge. Outline the challenge, how you addressed it, and the outcomes of your initiative.


ELIGIBILITY

You will be required to obtain a current National Police History Check and Working with Children Check (WWCC) prior to commencement of employment.


DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Cert IV or above qualifications in business administration, office administration, community services or human resources.

At least 2-4 years of administration coordination or office coordination.

Demonstrated experience in volunteer or staff supervision.

Experience in writing and maintaining policies, procedures, and compliance documents

Exposure to payroll, finance systems, or HR processes.

Experience working with young people or people with disability is highly desirable.
