We are looking for an experienced individual to join the Strategic and Economic Development team in the position of City Centre Place and Projects Officer. It creates jobs, attracts investment, generates income and is a key contributor towards economic growth.
This challenging and rewarding role will support the activation and promotion of Mandurah’s City Centre through development and implementation of a range of programs, projects and activations. Working across the organisation and in collaboration with local businesses and the wider community, the role will lead and support initiatives that drive visitation, investment and economic growth in Mandurah’s City Centre. You will support the implementation of Mandurah’s City Centre Master Plan which is currently under development, and other programs and projects developed under the City’s Strategic Community Plan, Economic Development Strategy and other strategies and business plans.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
- Hold a current unrestricted “C” class national driver’s licence.
- Substantial experience in the planning and delivery of projects, programs, and events.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- An understanding of economic development and community engagement principles.
- An understanding of the local economy, including the current issues facing small business.
- Knowledge of administration and operational implementation of projects and events.
- Experience in sponsorship and marketing strategies.
- Well-developed communication skills, including active listening and conflict resolution skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
- Sound analytical, research, and evaluation skills.
- High level of project management, organisation and time management skills
