Strategic/Statutory Planning Officer
Permanent Full Time | Based in Armadale
Looking for more variety in your planning career? Here’s a role that offers it all.
- Work across greenfield, urban infill, rural, tourism and more — few councils offer this breadth.
- Shape a fast-growing metro area while enjoying work-life balance with flexible options.
- Permanent, secure role – Salary $93,100 to $106,100 + 12% super + annual increases.

We’re looking for a capable and motivated planner ready for something different — someone who wants to apply their skills to meaningful work that shapes our community, while enjoying the stability and flexibility that local government offers.
About the Role
- You’ll work with major stakeholders like Development WA, deal with complex metro infill and greenfield sites, and support long-term planning for rural and hills areas.
- You’ll be supported by a collaborative, experienced team and gain exposure to both day-to-day and strategic planning projects.
- You’ll have opportunities to appear before Council and contribute to the City’s long-term vision.
About You
- Have a degree in Urban & Regional Planning (or equivalent recognised by PIA)
- Enjoy balancing big-picture thinking with the detail of planning assessments
- Communicate clearly and confidently with developers, internal teams, and the community
