TENANCY MANAGEMENT OFFICER

Full-time Monday to Friday, 76 hours per fortnight.

SCHADS Level 5/6

$100,766 – $114,983 per annum, plus superannuation.

Salary packaging available and 5 Weeks Annual Leave entitlement.

ABOUT TOORA WOMEN INC.

Toora helps women, trans women, and other feminine-identifying people living with trauma through experiencing any combination of:

· Homelessness

· Domestic violence

· Alcohol and substance dependency, or

· Connection with the corrections system.

Our current domestic violence, homelessness and AOD health treatment programs range across a variety of settings, such as crisis support, transitional or head tenancy accommodation, day programs, counselling and outreach support.

This allows us to provide holistic wrap-around, trauma-informed care within an integrated service system. We deliver these complex services within a human rights and gender sensitive framework, with advocacy at the forefront.

All services are based on a theoretical model of recovery, respect and empowerment. This includes encouraging self-help to our clients and assisting in minimizing the effects of institutional discrimination or disadvantages, and its associated harm.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

Toora Women Inc provides safe affordable accommodation and supportive services for women with complex needs, with or without their families. The Tenancy and Property Coordinator provides day-to-day property management and service coordination for Toora residents and is responsible to ensure that all assigned properties are operated in an efficient, cost effective manner while providing high quality, well maintained housing to residents.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Property Management

Maximise rental income by maintaining high occupancy rates and minimising vacancy loss, bad debt, and rental concessions inclusive of daily arrears management and bond management.

Preparation and regular review of Occupancy Agreements including proficient use of Centrelink's CPAY services

Conduct quarterly inspections with a high level of detail

Conduct rent reviews bi-annually

Liaise with Housing ACT and other stakeholders on property-related issues as required.

Ensure the service aligns with organisational policies, with a strong emphasis on professional boundaries and minimising risks of vicarious trauma.

Deliver tenancy services in accordance with community housing best practice, and in alignment with Toora’s model of care and approved intervention methods.

Administration

Assist in the preparation and submission of property-related reports required by Housing ACT, NRSCH and monthly reports to the Executive Team.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date reporting, including daily tenancy updates.

Liaise regularly with Housing ACT regarding property inspections, outcomes, and follow-up actions.

Produce timely and accurate reports, including data analysis reports, in accordance with professional standards and deadlines.

Confidently use a range of software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and Chintaro, to support tenancy and property management operations.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Experience

Diploma in Property Management, Diploma in Community Services (Social Housing) or equivalent

Minimum two years of experience in property management or similar

Understanding and working knowledge of housing issues and programs.

Understanding and knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act

Proficient computer skills including the use of Microsoft office and Chintaro software (and ability to learn new systems)

Well-developed interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills

Desirable Experience/Education

Experience in community housing or the social services sector.

Experience of working with women with high and complex needs, particularly with homelessness, AOD, mental health, sexual assault, domestic violence, incarceration and women from diverse backgrounds from within a feminist framework.
