Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Senior Business Development Specialist to lead our ERP lead generation efforts across Australia. This full-time remote role, preferably based in Melbourne, plays a critical role in identifying, qualifying, and advancing high-potential leads through strategic outreach, including cold calling and consultative engagement with decision-makers. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in enterprise software business development and excels at building relationships that drive revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct proactive cold calling and email outreach to generate and qualify new leads for ERP software solutions, turning initial contacts into sales opportunities.
Research and identify potential clients across industries, assess their business needs, and evaluate suitability for ERP implementation.
Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospective leads, maintaining accurate tracking of outreach activities, touchpoints, and lead status in the CRM.
Initiate and nurture engagement with potential customers by articulating clear value propositions, addressing initial objections, and responding to queries.
Collaborate with sales and marketing to align lead generation campaigns, such as targeted email and social media outreach, with broader sales goals and messaging.
Utilize social media and content marketing, especially LinkedIn, to support lead generation efforts by sharing relevant insights, nurturing prospects, and engaging with industry content.
Maintain meticulous CRM records of all prospect interactions to enable seamless handoffs and support accurate forecasting and performance tracking.
Develop and refine lead generation strategies based on market insights, competitor intelligence, and customer segmentation.
Provide feedback to Marketing and R&D teams to align campaigns and solution offerings with customer needs.
Requirements:
5 to 7 years of proven experience in cold calling, telemarketing, or outbound sales, preferably within enterprise software, B2B SaaS, or ERP ecosystems. Prior ERP sales or software solutions experience is highly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, IT, Engineering, or a related discipline. Quantitative or technical backgrounds are a strong asset.
Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets through strategic outreach and persistent follow-up.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to initiate conversations, build rapport, and influence decision-makers through compelling value propositions.
Strong command of English, both written and verbal, ensuring clear, professional interaction with clients and internal stakeholders.
Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics) and lead generation tools is a plus.
Highly self-driven and commercially minded, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver results in a complex B2B sales environment.
Experience working across cross-functional teams such as pre-sales, marketing, and sales to deliver cohesive messaging and solutions is preferred.
Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and articulate how ERP solutions address key business challenges and operational needs.
Experience engaging with senior-level stakeholders (e.g., CFOs, CIOs, Heads of Operations) and navigating multi-tiered decision-making processes.
Experience with or understanding of IFS, Acumatica, or other tier-2 ERP systems is a strong advantage.
