ASSEMBLY FITTER - MECHANICAL FITTER - WELDER - 4 DAY WEEK

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Fitter to join our clients Chemical Plant & Engineering Equipment section. They employ over 50 staff nationally and have a small well equiped workshop in Campbellfield area.

In this role you will be responsible for mechanical assembly, quality control, stock coordination, and dispatch operations in a busy manufacturing and production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly of equipment, including quality inspection, functional testing, and packing.
• Monitor and manage workshop inventory, including parts, consumables, and packaging materials.
• Inspect incoming goods to ensure compliance with purchase orders and internal quality standards.
• Prepare and package outgoing equipment in accordance with internal quality, logistics, and safety standards.
• Assist in the development and implementation of lean workshop processes to improve efficiency.
• Complete production and QA documentation, including electronic data entry and job tracking.

Key Requirements / Selection Criteria

• Trade qualification in mechanical fitting or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience in mechanical assembly and equipment fitting.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Excellent planning, time management, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Proficiency in using computers and learning new systems.
• Forklift licence (valid and current).

This is a permanent fulltime position offering a 4 day week and paying up to $43 per hour plus super.
