Role Objective

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Draftsperson with strong CAD modelling experience and expertise in packaging machine layouts to join our dynamic engineering team. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality design and drafting support for our custom machinery projects.

Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed 2D and 3D machinery layouts using Solid Edge.

Design and customise packaging and bulk handling machinery for clients.

Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings and BOMs for production.

Collaborate with engineers, salespeople, and clients to ensure designs meet technical requirements and site constraints.

Research and develop new machinery - Ideas → design → detail → manufacture

Review and update existing designs for continuous improvement based on feedback.

Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality guidelines.

Skills & Experience

Proficiency in 3D CAD software e.g Solid Edge (preferred), Solidworks, AutoCAD, CATIA etc.

Proven experience in mechanical drafting and design for machinery and equipment layouts.

Knowledge of fresh produce handling, cleaning, grading and packaging machinery is highly desirable.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work unsupervised to achieve tight deadlines.

Good communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and clients.
