Job Summary:
As an Industrial Cardboard Designer, you will be responsible for designing and prototyping cardboard-based packaging solutions, displays, and structural products. Your role will combine creativity, functionality, and cost-efficiency, with a focus on manufacturability and material optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
Design custom cardboard packaging and structures based on client requirements and product specifications.
Create dielines, CAD drawings, and 3D renderings using software such as ArtiosCAD, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks.
Collaborate with production, sales, and marketing teams to develop innovative and sustainable packaging solutions.
Test and prototype designs to ensure durability, stackability, and compliance with logistics and safety standards.
Conduct material usage analysis and suggest cost-saving alternatives.
Stay updated on packaging trends, sustainability practices, and industry standards.
Communicate directly with clients and suppliers to ensure design feasibility and clarity.
Requirements:
Degree or diploma in Industrial Design, Packaging Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in cardboard or structural packaging design (minimum 2 years preferred).
Proficiency in CAD and packaging design software (e.g., ArtiosCAD, Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
Strong understanding of corrugated materials (B-flute, E-flute, etc.) and manufacturing processes.
Ability to create production-ready dielines and technical drawings.
Strong attention to detail, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with point-of-sale (POS) displays or eco-packaging.
Knowledge of print processes (offset, flexo) and finishing techniques.
Experience in sustainability and lifecycle analysis of packaging materials.
