About the role
Fleetweld Specialized Vehicle Bodies' is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer/Draftsperson to join their team in Dandenong South, Victoria. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for providing engineering design and drafting support for the development and manufacture of custom vehicle bodies and equipment.
What you'll be doing
Developing 2D and 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings for new and modified vehicle body designs
Conducting structural and mechanical analyses to ensure designs meet all relevant safety and performance standards
Collaborating with the production team to resolve any technical issues that arise during the manufacturing process
Maintaining up-to-date technical documentation and design specifications
Supporting the continuous improvement of design and manufacturing processes
What we're looking for
Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar engineering design and drafting role, preferably within the automotive or commercial vehicle industry
Proficient in the use of 2D and 3D CAD software, such as AutoCAD and Solidworks
Strong technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Familiarity with Australian design standards and regulations for commercial vehicles
