Your opportunity
The Statistical Society of Australia (SSA) has a vision to amplify the power, use, and practice of statistics and data science across Australia. Founded in 1962, SSA is a national professional membership organisation offering events, conferences, networking opportunities via branch meetings, accreditation programs, and discussion forums for members.
Following a recent restructure and with a dynamic part-time team in place, we are thrilled to welcome a Membership & Communications Officer. This part-time role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver exceptional member services and manage SSA’s communication platforms, while enjoying flexibility and work-life balance.
Membership
Manage the SSA inbox and efficiently onboard new members. Process membership and accreditation applications while maintaining accurate membership data.
Serve as the point of contact for members, respond to enquiries, and assist with renewals, follow-ups, and other member services.
Support engagement with Branches, Sections, and Networks.
Manage existing member services and benefits.
Maintain membership data integrity and prepare reports to track growth.
Assist the Executive Committee and General Manager (GM) with Annual Reports, AGMs, and SSA projects.
Develop and maintain a current Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual.
Collaborate with the GM to develop membership strategies.
Support major SSA events as required.
Communications
Collect suitable editorial content and manage the distribution of SSA’s fortnightly e-News to members.
Maintain, update, and reinvigorate the SSA website and our social media platform, LinkedIn.
Collaborate with the GM to develop communications strategies for SSA’s conferences and events.
Assist in drafting ad hoc communications.
To Be Considered for This Opportunity, You Will Bring
Experience in membership services or customer services within a corporate or membership organisation.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A tertiary qualification in marketing or communications is desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Wild Apricot and Canva or any of these platforms are desirable.
Ability to multitask and prioritise workload effectively.
Australian work rights.
