About the role

Blackheath and Thornburgh College is seeking a full-time Facilities Team Member to join our hardworking team in Charters Towers, QLD. In this varied role, you will be responsible for providing maintenance, repair and handyperson services across our campus to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.

What you'll be doing

Responding to service requests at the direction of the Facilities Manager and addressing issues in a timely manner

Maintaining the upkeep of the school's grounds, gardens, and outdoor areas

Assisting with the setup and pack-up of school events and functions

General maintenance and labouring tasks as required

Collaborating with the Facilities team to identify and resolve problems

Adhering to all health and safety guidelines and procedures

What we're looking for

Previous experience in a facilities, maintenance or handyperson role

Strong practical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Good communication and customer service skills

This role involves regular outdoor work and tasks that require physical stamina, including manual labour in varying weather conditions. Applicants should be capable of safely performing duties such as lifting, carrying, and operating equipment in outdoor environments.
