Our client is a leading provider of engineering design solutions and innovative industrial equipment for a wide range of industries including aviation, mining, oil and gas. As a result of ongoing and sustained growth, they are currently seeking an experienced Business Development Manager / Sales Executive to assist their growing team based in East Perth.
This is an ideal position for someone with an engineering background ideally within aviation or mechanical engineering, who excels in customer service and client communication.
The Role:
Reporting to the WA Sales Manager, this position plays a key role in driving business growth by strengthening existing client relationships and uncovering new opportunities across key industries such as Aviation, Defence, Mining, and Oil & Gas. Key duties include:
- Prepare and submit competitive tenders and accurate quotations, providing clients with technical support and compliant, solution-driven recommendations
- Generate new business through proactive outreach, including cold calling, networking, and support of targeted marketing initiatives
- Manage CRM systems to monitor client engagement, track sales activity, and support broader digital and social media efforts
- Maintain structured client contact plans to deliver tailored technical solutions aligned with customer needs
- Conduct market research to identify industry trends and inform the development of future products and services
- Represent the company at key industry events, trade shows, conferences, and briefings to build brand presence and foster relationships
- Identify and secure new opportunities across priority sectors, contributing to business growth and market expansion
- Achieve personal sales targets, support team objectives, and provide accurate sales forecasting and performance reporting to leadership
- Liaise with other departments as needed including engineering department, procurement, fabrication workshop and internal sales
About You:
To be successful in the position, you will require the following:
- Strong experience in aviation GSE, resources, contracts, fabrication, or engineering sector
- At least 3 years + experience within a similar business development / sales executive role
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills
- Proactive and confident in cold calling, presentations and closing sales opportunities
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly professional
- Full working rights
- Ability to pass a pre employment drug and alcohol assessment
- Aviation or mechanical engineering tertiary qualification (derisible)
