Expression of Interest: Senior Procurement Professionals

We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced and motivated procurement professionals for a variety of current and upcoming senior roles (APS6 and EL1) across the Australian Public Service.

The Roles

Senior procurement roles in the APS are accountable for delivering strategic, compliant, and value-for-money procurement outcomes. Responsibilities may include:

Leading and managing end-to-end procurement activities for complex projects.

Developing and implementing procurement strategies in line with Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act.

Providing expert advice and guidance to business areas and internal stakeholders.

Negotiating and managing contracts, including supplier relationships and performance.

Identifying and mitigating procurement risks to ensure probity and transparency.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking individuals who possess a strong understanding of the Australian Government procurement framework. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate:

In-depth knowledge of the CPRs and their application.

Proven ability to lead complex procurement and contract management processes.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Experience in stakeholder engagement and building effective relationships.

Sound judgment, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Leadership capabilities and a commitment to professional excellence.
