Position Summary:
As a Property Manager Trainee, you will undergo comprehensive training to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively manage and oversee residential properties. This entry-level position is designed to provide you with a solid foundation in property management practices, policies, and procedures. Throughout the training program, you will work closely with experienced property managers and gain practical experience in various aspects of property management.
Responsibilities:
Learning and Development: Participate in a structured training program that covers all essential aspects of property management, including leasing, tenant relations, maintenance coordination, financial management, and legal compliance.
Tenant Relations: Assist in maintaining positive relationships with tenants, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner.
Leasing and Marketing: Learn the leasing process, including conducting property showings, screening prospective tenants, preparing lease agreements, and implementing marketing strategies to attract and retain tenants.
Property Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of properties to ensure they are well-maintained and comply with safety and quality standards.
Maintenance Coordination: Collaborate with maintenance staff and contractors to address repair and maintenance issues promptly, ensuring that properties are well-maintained and meet the needs of tenants
Legal Compliance: Gain an understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance with fair housing laws, lease agreements, and other applicable regulations.
Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support, including record-keeping, document management, and maintaining accurate property files and databases.
Professional Development: Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and property management practices through continuous learning and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
Education: High school required
Experience: Prior experience in property management is not required; however, experience in customer service, sales, or a related field is beneficial.
Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with tenants, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Aptitude for identifying and resolving issues promptly and efficiently, demonstrating a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in handling documentation, contracts, and financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Computer Proficiency: Basic knowledge of computer systems, including word processing, spreadsheet software, and property management software.
Professionalism: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor, displaying integrity and ethics while representing the company.
Valid Driver's License: You will require a valid driver's license for property visits and inspections.
