Part Time Bookkeeper - 4 days a week
As the peak body for cyber security, the Australian Information Security Association (AISA) champions the development of a robust information security sector by building the capacity of professionals in Australia and advancing the cyber security and safety of the Australian public as well as businesses and governments in Australia.
We are looking for a bookkeeper – 4 days a week, with high-level bookkeeping experience and advanced XERO knowledge.
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general financial administration. This role supports maintaining financial data integrity, compliance with statutory obligations, and assists with the month-end and year-end processes.
Working from a secure home office, you will work with a small team of AISA staff who work remotely. You will be required to attend our events or in person team planning days from time to time.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Manage accounts payable: invoice processing, payment scheduling, reconciliations, and vendor records
Handle accounts receivable: issuing invoices, tracking payments, reconciling accounts, and resolving billing issues
Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations, including credit cards, reimbursements, and journal entries
Support month-end and year-end close activities with accurate coding and documentation
Assist in preparation of the annual AISA budget in conjunction with the General Manager
Ensure the Xero files are accurate and up to date
Work with the AISA appointed accounting firm
Maintain proactive relationships with all members and stakeholders.
Attend our events or in person team planning days.
Skills and Experience
Minimum 3+ years of advanced bookkeeping experience;
Advanced knowledge of XERO
Computer literacy and the ability to easily learn new software
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Very high level of attention to detail
Be a multi-tasker with high work ethics
Be a sharp self-starter, willing to learn and enjoy working with a focused team
Be a confident problem solver, willing to go the extra mile
Be able to travel interstate on occasion to our events
Knowledge of tax deductible gift recipient status or foundation is an advantage
