About you and this position
The Community Engagement Officer is responsible for developing and delivering community consultation projects on behalf of Council.
With relevant experience in a similar role, you will use your strong collaboration, communication and organisational skills to undertake end to end consultation projects, encouraging active community participation, and facilitating engagement with local residents, businesses and stakeholders.
Reporting to the Manager Governance, you will:
- Deliver a broad and interesting range of consultation projects
- Collate and analyse data from community consultations and prepare Council reports
- Facilitate community meetings, deliver presentations/briefings, and attend Council meetings
- Assist with the continuous improvement of Council’s consultation processes.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Sound experience in planning, developing, implementing, analysing and report writing for consultation projects
- Strong analysis, time management and problem solving skills
- Relevant experience working in a consultation role
- Understanding of Local Government legislative requirements for consultation (community engagement)
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills, with the ability to write and present confidently
- A current Working with Children Certificate or the ability and willingness to get one
- Current driver’s license
- Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and an IAP2 (International Association of Public Participation) certificate.
This position is available for immediate start on a full-time basis until September 2028 and is classified as a Grade 5 under the Campbelltown Municipal Officers Staff Enterprise Agreement No 11, 2024 and the relevant Award.
The preferred candidate will need to undertake a pre-employment medical and submit a police clearance (funded by Council).
