About the Role:
The Community Engagement Advisor Algal Bloom provides engagement and communications support to DEW stakeholders, with a focus on the algal bloom affecting parts of South Australia. The role will provide support by delivering tactics and maintaining communication channels in a way that increases community understanding, support and involvement. The role will primarily focus on algal bloom communications and engagement but may assist with other projects across the department. Other duties may include managing and responding to media inquiries and developing media and social media opportunities. The role will develop engagement plans and activity plans in line with best-practice community engagement principles. The Community Engagement Advisor Algal Bloom develops and contributes to strategic communications activities and projects by effectively managing, monitoring and evaluating communication initiatives as well as maintaining content for a range of communication platforms.

Contract:
For 12 months
Desirable Qualifications:
An appropriate degree/qualification in communications, journalism or relevant discipline is desirable.
Special Conditions:
May be required to participate in responses to state emergencies or associated duties.
You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows you to work in Australia without restrictions.
Prior to being employed, the successful applicant will be required to obtain a National Police Check.
Inter and intrastate and remote area travel is required, including travel in light aircraft.
May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel, occasional overnight absences, and work outside of the normal hours of work.
Remuneration:
ASO5 $85,790 min - $95,413 max p.a.
