Mcdowall Bakery is a highly acclaimed bakery, located in Mcdowall Village 109 Beckett Rd Mcdowall

Qld 4053. We make a range of hand-shaped sourdoughs, baguettes, croissants and more.

Due to the expansion of the wholesale side of the business are looking for an experienced full-time

baker to work within a small team of professionals.

Qualifications & experience

• Min. 2 years full-time experience as a baker.

Baker - Tasks & Responsibilities

• Consistency and flare for sourdough and other specialty bread making

• A desire to work with high quality ingredients

• Above average workplace speed and accuracy

• The ability to work unsupervised and also within a close knit team

• Experience with hand moulding doughs with high hydration

• Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to

ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations

• Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients kneading, maturing, cutting,

moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods

• Preparing pastry fillings

• Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times

• Coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of

bread, rolls and pastry products

• Glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing
